How the name “Lilies of the Lion” came to be…

The lily flower has always held special meaning for us. Samantha & Shannah were christened after the lily in the Chinese names given to them by their paternal grandmother – Samantha’s Chinese name means “Bright Lily” and Shannah’s Chinese name means “Smiling Lily.” Also, by launching a family business, we are wholly stepping out in faith that God will always provide, as Matthew 6:28-30 states:

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you?”

It is our motivation to do all things with the purpose of bringing glory and honor to Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is both the Lion and the Lamb.

My name is Millie and I am a disciple of Jesus & Mary. I was born and raised in a Buddhist family in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I also met and married my cradle-Catholic husband, Michael, in May 1990.

In 1993, my husband and I immigrated to the United States of America. I converted to Catholicism in 1997, thinking that God would be more inclined to answer my prayers if I converted. However, it wasn’t until 2000 that I encountered the power of Jesus Christ through the intercession of Mary Mother of God and had some supernatural encounters. My journey has been one of seeking and longing for the constant presence of God in my life. In 2007, Jesus gave me the mandate to FEED HIS SHEEP.

I am a brainstormer in Lilies of the Lion and the author of “Lion Spirit” Blog. Ultimately, I am a passionate ambassador of the Kingdom whose goal is to see people’s lives transformed by LOVE.

My name is Samantha, I am 23 years old with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Literature. I am enthusiastic about using my passions to share the Lord’s great love to the world. I have heard from the Lord through the 7 Mountain Mandate that His will for me is to share His love with others through Arts and Entertainment. Therefore, my focus is arts, music and making old things new again.

You will find me active in much of the design and creation of Lilies of the Lion.

Music has been a great love of mine for as long as I can remember. I have been blessed to have been able to hear the Lord speak to me through the medium of music, and you will always find me listening to my favorite songs. (P.S. I am also an avid member of the K-pop community!)

I have a great love for vintage, so making old things new again is another aspect of my passions. I love watching classic movies, specifically from 1927-1956 starring my favorite actors, actresses, crooners and singers. I hope to one day see my favorite musicals and black-and-white classics being brought back and appreciated in contemporary culture.

Above all, I am a zealous Kingdom Entrepreneur who does all things for LOVE.

My name is Shannah, and I am 22 years old and have a Bachelor’s of Arts in English & Literature. As a musician, artist, and aspiring children’s book author, my Kingdom assignment is to spread God’s love through the talents that He has given me. I enjoy being active in Lilies of the Lion’s artwork, design and writing.

Ever since I was little, I have always loved singing and listening to music. I learned to play the piano when I was 16, and I honestly cannot imagine life without God’s wonderful gift of music!

Drawing has also been a passion of mine since childhood. My favorite things to draw include animated animals and characters, as well as still lifes. Also, one of my most treasured memories is how my parents would read bedtime stories to my sister and I. That’s why it is my dream to write children’s books that bring families together, by spreading joy and inspiring love for our Heavenly Father.

In between these activities, you can often find me taking long walks around the neighborhood, writing in my diary, or smothering my cat with cuddles.

Every day, God gives me a reason to smile because He loves me. And I want to share that LOVE with the world by making other people smile too.
